Michael Retzlaff, Senior Project Manager
I wear many hats: human, husband, father, friend, Senior Project Manager and Head of Recruiting at Consileon Healthcare, Marketing Director at BlueDolphin, hands-on researcher, coach, learner, do-gooder, trumpeter….
I never wanted to be an adult. That’s why I never really thought about a profession that I could pursue as an adult. After school, I completed a degree in engineering, but over time I became more and more interested in people.
To put it bluntly, success for me is when what I set out to do happens. But that’s not enough for me. It is really successful when I can positively influence the lives of others.
In addition to my role as Project Manager at Consileon, I am involved in the BlueDolphin network, which was founded by my Consileon colleague Wolfram Müller. I also found my way to Consileon through Wolfram.
I studied electrical engineering some time ago and recently studied general management part-time. If I were to put a value on it, I would be allowed to frame my name: Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Michael Retzlaff, MBA. At least if that means university studies… Otherwise, I see myself as a lifelong learner, so I am also a student of life.
I joined as a Project Manager in the Healthcare Business Unit. The healthcare industry has not had it easy in the past and is currently facing massive problems. Almost one in eight working people in Germany is employed in the healthcare sector. There is a lot to improve! Being able to contribute to that – that’s what I find exciting and motivating.
Anything I can do to make the world a little bit better. In my roles at Consileon and BlueDolphin, I’m already very good at that. In addition, I try to promote a better corporate culture in companies with the #BringLoveToBusiness initiative in the social networks. Now, of course, I’m adding #BringLoveToHealthcare to that.
Other than that, I love to read, learn Chinese, and play the trumpet. Most of all, I love spending time with friends and family, especially our two children.
Know your values! What is important to you? What do you never want to move away from, what is non-negotiable for you, because otherwise you won’t be happy? Then compare this with the Consileon values and if it fits: Be yourself, in harmony with your values.
